PD Session-Topics:Gas Safety Chain and Chemistry of Flames

The QGA held a F2F PD (professional development) session for members at Brendale QLD. The first presentation was by the Principal Inspector (RSHQ) Paul Beaumont, in where he did an overview of the "Gas Safety Chain" and it's recent issues, followed by Q&A's. The 2nd presentation was by Peter Burdon (Combustion Engineer) where he discussed the following points: the chemistry of what happens and when in flames, the stability of flames & how this is achieved with different types of gases, the effect of flame speed on head design burners, how long NOX burners achieve their low NOX and problems & defects on different types of burners & the solutions in depth.
