"Our Gas Industry, Your Gas Association"
QGA – the Queensland Gas Association – is an independent, professional organisation representing the interests of the Queensland gas industry. We are run by industry specialists, with the aim of mentoring, educating and supporting individuals, groups and businesses who are operating within the gas Industry, while continually advocating for gas safety awareness.
Our Mission
QGA’s mission is to represent the interests of the Queensland Gas Industry, interest groups and individuals through education, industry promotion, self-regulation, and industry standards.
The Foundation of QGA
The QGA was established in the year 2000, driven by the need for non-mass production gas appliances, especially for commercial cooking. The association has since evolved to cover caravans and marine devices, as well as certifying devices for sale and compliance.
In recent years, we have established a reputation for delivering well-informed professional development, providing technical advice from our range of industry specialists, and advocating for the industry as a whole.
As a whole and as individual members, QGA is friendly, approachable, and business-like, making our association the ideal choice for professionals in the gas industry looking to increase their knowledge and industry contracts while growing their business.
Helping Queenslanders Stay Gas-Safe
We take pride in reinforcing the education of all concerned parties around gas safety awareness throughout the state of Queensland and beyond. QGA members are primarily based throughout Queensland, however, we also have members around the nation.
The QGA administers and manages processes relating to Type A gas device approvals in the state of Queensland.
Educating the Gas Industry
QGA members often join our professional development sessions which are structured to ensure you are refreshed and up to date, while contributing towards CPD points for your gas licence. Our PD sessions allow gas fitters, apprentice gas fitters, gas engineers, plumbers and electricians to upskill, expand their knowledge base and have questions answered.
Our technical PD sessions include specialist speakers and industry experts presenting at workshops where they share their vast knowledge and experience. Training sessions also provide the opportunity to network, interact with fellow industry members and build contacts within the gas industry. These sessions can be attended via our online platform, offering a wider audience to attend and benefit from the knowledge gained.
Field Trips
In addition, we offer technical support from industry leading experts and educational field trips to locations such as the Oakey Power Station and the Landfill Green Power Station at Willawong, Qld.
